Jason Spicer researches democratic and sustainable approaches to economic development, with particular interests in cooperatives, the social economy, community wealth building, and community economic development. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Economy and a Master in City Planning from MIT. Before entering academia, he spent 15 years working in global urban development. He is also appointed to the Social Welfare Ph.D. program at the CUNY Graduate Center.
